May & Kelvin visit ‘Cat Alley’

Kelvin and May contacted us with a fantastic and unusual location in mind for their shoot.

Their love of furry creatures had lead them to the discovery of a cute alleyway in Surry Hills, nicknamed Cat Alley. In a delightful hidden back street of bustling Sydney is this quiet sanctuary for a laid-back community of prowling felines. Walking down Cat Alley you can’t help escape the feeling you are but a guest amongst the cats – this is their place. Bringing a snack or two guarantees a friendly reception.

Paul & Sarah’s Wedding at The Rocks, Sydney

Paul & Sarah’s service was in one of Sydney’s oldest churches and afterwards we strolled down old-Sydney, between The Rocks and the restored and re-purposed piers of Walsh Bay. This wedding was a mix of contemporary style with tradition. Our reception at the unique and amazingly situated Waterfront Restaurant overlooking the Opera House and Circular Quay in The Rocks. Sam & Julie’s Hunter Valley Wedding

There is nothing quite as charming as a low-key Friday wedding in the Hunter Valley. Sam and Julie were so easy going and the outdoor celebration was an atmosphere of close-knit friends, heartfelt warmth and country simplicity. The photo opportunities flowed as naturally as the sun set.

Locations pictured are the grand Willow Tree Estate and across the road for some shots amongst the vines opposite thanks to Wyndham Estate in Pokolbin.

Wow, what morning this was – it was hot, sunny and did I mention HOT – but that wasn’t going to stop these two live-wires. The Sydney humidity took its toll and we were ready for an afternoon siesta afterwards!

A big thanks to parents, Doan and Helen for all their hard work and getting involved in the styling and sourcing of props of this kids shoot – it paid off!

Kent and Lorna contacted us all the way from Hong Kong, they were going to be in Sydney for a week and wanted some pics to show back home.

As Sydney is known for its beaches and sunshine we arranged to shoot to show it off – at Balmoral Beach. There was beach, but no sunshine – just rain and plenty of it. It got so heavy that we decided to postpone and rain-check two days later, when we met at the next cove – Clifton Gardens Reserve. While still not exactly sunny, a photographer rarely complains about diffuse overcast light so we proceeded. We had a real blast exploring around the old buildings that surround the coast…

Ahoy there me mateys it’s 2012!

Here be another styled and themed family shoot to usher in the new year – yarr!

For Sydney family photography that’s got a touch of attitude just shoot me an email. Props and a sense of humor are provided to each customer! At only $450 for a two hour styled shoot (props inc) and $400 for a candid shoot with everything on disc, it be like plundering treasure – yarr!

Nothing as rewarding as a kids photo shoot where everything just comes together. Gemma and Phoebe were a charm!

The photos are in their local park in Hunters Hill. With a few props for the girls to be engaged with they soon forgot they were having their pictures taken. Toddlers and kids shoots are all about the art of distraction – that, and a fair bit of clowning around.

Sydney is full of hidden parks, you don’t need to go far to find a charming spot!

War at High Tea: Alison & Ryan

For Alison & Ryan it was always going to be a tongue-in-cheek theme to their couple shoot.

We decided we would setup a tea party in a picturesque garden. As you can guess the cheekiness gets the better of them and high tea descends into all out war – with cakes, cream-puffs and jelly beans used as culinary missiles in a classic food fight!
