Trash the Dress: Buck Hunting

Chrissie & Gregg are good friends of mine who were married this time last year. Chrissie is an acclaimed fashion photographer (check her work www.chrissiehall.com) and shares my quirky sensibilities. For their anniversary shoot I knew I would have to come up with a concept that was well and truly out of the ordinary!

In this series Gregg is a free buck, and while you can’t see a whole lot of Gregg behind his mask, in part II he will be transformed by his bride into a dashing groom.

Part I: Snagging the right groom.

Part II: An alternate ending.

This shoot is now on my main website and is featured on one stylish bride.

Heather - A very classy hunt with a happy ending. Puts a new slant on ‘lady killer’.

Rachael - HAHAHa I love this, really nice light, great locations, i really like the story and how gorgeous are that couple?!?!?

Dia de los Muertos: Day of the Dead

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday that focuses on the gathering family and friends to pray and remember people who have died.

People build private alters with the photos, favorate foods and liquor of the departed and visit cemeteries to be with the souls of the dead. The idea is that the souls return on this night to spend time with the living.

Heather - Nicola looks uncannily like La Donna des Muertes!Haunting.

Nicola - I love that Grace is dancing by herself off in her own little world.

Tawny Frog Mouth

Spring is in the air and this Tawny Frog Mouth family sit perched upon a Bottle Brush as the sun sets.

This family almost lost their young one when it fell from the tree and was found some meters away helpless. Ben, a thoughtful passerby, called W.I.R.E.S and I accompanied them out to the initial rescue. Luckily its parents were spotted, as they are highly camouflaged, and it was placed back into the tree.

Three days later I returned to check on its progress and took these photos. Happily the young fledgling was doing much better, under the care of it’s parents.

Heather - Mom and Dad are feeding Junior up well, he’s the same size with a fluffier coat. Hasn’t managed the Raptor eyes quite yet.

di quick - I adore those tawny frogmouths!
